The degradation and leaching of phytates, phytase activity, and iron and zinc concentrations have been studied after soaking of whole seeds, dehulled seeds, and flours of millet. The results indicated that dehulling and milling before soaking facilitated the leaching of phytates and phytases in aqueous medium, and hence, phytate degradation.

Cast iron contains 1.8 to 4.5 percent carbon and additives like silicone, magnesium, chromium, molybdenum, and copper to improve rigidity and ductility. The resulting cast iron grades range from Brinell hardness numbers (BHN) of 150 to 300. That means that even though they're all cast iron, they respond differently to turning.
